Work with Stephen Lee
May ___, 2024: If you would like to help a former federal prosecutor prepare for some upcoming trials, or know someone who would like to do so, I’m hiring! I’m looking to hire someone who is in or near downtown Chicago, can work in-person most days, and can travel in late July and early August.
If you’re interested, please email me using the form on this page, but do NOT send me your CV. I don’t want to know where you went to college or even if you went to college – I care far more about work ethic, experience with investigations or fact-finding, and problem-solving ability. Malcolm Gladwell’s Grand Unified Theory for fixing higher education is to institute a “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy about college, and I want to try testing that approach here. Send me an email (500-1,000 words) explaining why you’d be good for this job without name-dropping any school or degree, and we’ll see how that works out!
This would be a three-month assignment with potential to extend. The job would involve preparing trial exhibits, analyzing data, and organizational tasks, and it would be an opportunity to learn how a trial lawyer prepares to litigate high-stake matters. The hourly rate will be $30.
